Main Campus - Various Buildings (Refer To "When is this happening?" section below)

As part of the Primary North Electrical Distribution Replacement project, there will be several building level electrical shutdowns to accommodate the replacement of the existing equipment. This is being done to increase the capacity, resilience, and minimize risk of future failures on campus.

Note: Please contact the persons listed below if you have any concerns with the power outages listed.

Please note that the project is currently on schedule. Items 1-18 are completed, as noted below. Please also note there is a minor clarification to item 31.
These shutdowns will be taking place on the dates as follows:
1. Tuesday, July 23, 2024 - C2 (28), 2 hours (5:30 am - 7:30 am). - Completed
2. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 - ERC (48), 1 hour (5:30 am - 6:30 am).Completed
3. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 - CSB (12), 1 hour (7:00 am - 8:00 am). Please note Chiller 3 will be offline for duration of shutdown. Completed
4. Thursday, July 25, 2024 - C2 (28), 2 hours (5:30 am - 7:30 am). Completed.
5. Friday, July 26, 2024 - ERC (48), 1 hour ( 5:30 am - 6:30 am). Completed
6. Friday, July 26, 2024 - CSB (12), 1 hour (7:00 am - 8:00 am). Completed
7. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - QNC (50), 2 hours (5:00 am - 7:00 am). Completed
8. Friday, August 9, 2024 - CSB (12), 1 hour (7:00 pm – 8:00 pm). Please note Chiller 3 will be offline for duration of shutdown. Completed
9. Saturday, August 10, 2024 - CSB (12), 5 min, 2 hours (11:30 am – 1:30 pm). Please note entire plant will be offline for 5 minutes, Chillers 1 and 2 will be offline for 2 hours. Completed
10. Saturday, August 10, 2024 - North Loop 3, 5 minutes (3:00 am). Please note buildings on North Loop 3 (ERC, BMH, AHS, PAC, SLC, OPT, UC, HS) will experience a brief power outage. Completed
11. Saturday, August 10, 2024 - QNC (50), 2.5 hours (7:30 am – 10:30 am). Completed
12. This has been removed and will not be replaced. Completed
13. Sunday, August 11, 2024 - FED (35), 2 @ 1 hour (6:30 am - 9:30 am & 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm). Please note Building will be on Generator all day. Outages are to switch onto and off a back-up generator. Completed
14. Sunday, August 11, 2024 - North Loop 4, 5 minutes (4:00pm). Please note buildings on North Loop 4 (REV, MKV, V1, TH and FED) will experience a brief power outage. Completed
15. Sunday, August 11, 2024 - REV (25), 30 minutes (the outage will take place either between 1:30 pm - 3:30pm or after 7pm). Completed
16. Saturday, August 9, 2024 - OPT (33), 2 hours (5:00 am - 7:00 am). Completed
17. Monday, August 12, 2024 - M3 (56), 2 hours (5:00 am - 7:00 am). Please note there will be a generator for the data centre. Completed
18. Monday, August 12, 2024 - North Loop 1, 5 minutes (5:00am). Please note buildings on North Loop 1 (C2, DC, MC, GSC, COM and M3) will experience a brief power outage. Completed.
19. Monday, August 26, 2024 - CSB (12), 1 hour (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm). Please note Chillers 1 and 2 will be offline for 1 hour, entire plant will be offline for 5 minutes at 6:00pm.
20. Monday, August 26, 2024 - REV (25), 30 minutes (7:00pm - 7:30 pm).
21. Monday, August 26, 2024 - North Loop 4, 5 minutes (7:30pm). Please note buildings on North Loop 4 (REV, MKV, V1, TH and FED) will experience a brief power outage.
22. Tuesday, August 27, 2024 - FED (35), 2 @ 1 hour (7:30 am - 8:30 am and 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm). Please note Building on generator all day. Outages to switch onto and off a back-up generator.
23. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 - OPT (33), 1 hour (5:00 am - 6:00 am).
24. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 - North Loop 3, 5 minutes (6:00am). Please note buildings on North Loop 3 (ERC, BMH, AHS, PAC, SLC, OPT, UC, HS) will experience a brief power outage.
25. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 - M3 (56), 1 hour (6:30 am - 7:30 am). Please note there will be a generator for the data centre.
26. Wednesday, August 28, 2024 - North Loop 1, 5 minutes (7:30am). Please note buildings on North Loop 1 (C2, DC, MC, GSC, COM, M3) will experience a brief power outage.
27. Thursday, August 29, 2024 - QNC (50), 2 hours (5:30 am - 7:30 am).
28. Friday, August 30, 2024 - QNC (50), 2.5 hours (5:00 am - 7:30 am).
29. Thursday, September 5, 2024 - M3 (56), 1 hour (5:00 am - 6:00 am). Please note there will be a generator for the data centre.
30. Thursday, September 5, 2024 - North Loop 1, 5 minutes (5:00am). Please note buildings on North Loop 1 (C2, DC, MC, GSC, COM, M3) will experience a brief power outage.
31. Thursday, September 5, 2024 - OPT (33), 1 hour (6:30 am - 7:30 am).
32. Thursday, September 5, 2024 - North Loop 3, 5 minutes (6:30am). Please note buildings on North Loop 3 (ERC, BMH, AHS, PAC, SLC, OPT, UC, HS) will experience a brief power outage.
33. Friday, September 6, 2024 - CSB (12), 2 @ 1 hour, 5 min (8:00 am - 9:00am, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm). Please note Chillers 1 and 2 will be offline for 1 hour morning and afternoon, entire plant will be offline for 5 minutes at 8:00 am and for 15 minutes at 5:00 pm.
34. Saturday, September 7, 2024 - M3 (56), 2 hours (7:30 am - 9:30 am).
35. Saturday, September 7, 2024 - OPT (33), 2 hours (5:00 am - 7:30 am).
36. Saturday, September 7, 2024 - South Loops #3 and #4, 5 minutes (10:30 am – 10:40 am). . Please note All buildings on South Loops #3 and #4 (TC, SCH, CPH, E2, E3, LIB, NH, DWE, GH, SHARC, PHY, CEIT, RCH, DC CIM, STC, B1, B2, ESC, HH, MHR, PAS, EV1, EV2, EV3, AL, and ML) will experience a brief power outage.

The impacts will be as noted above, in "When is this happening?". During the outages, the building will have no normal power.
